Portrait Commission Terms

Portraits are created from photographs provided by the client. Where several photographs are available, these may be used together to create the most suitable reference for the artwork.

In some cases photographs may be limited, aged, or lack fine detail. The drawing may therefore require a degree of artistic interpretation. Every effort will be made to produce a portrait that captures the character and likeness of the subject.

Reference images and the overall composition will be agreed before the drawing begins. Once the drawing process has commenced, major changes to pose, composition, or subject selection may not be possible.

Each portrait is hand drawn. While every effort is made to achieve a strong likeness, the finished artwork reflects the artist’s interpretation and drawing style.

Because each piece is individually hand drawn, alterations after completion are limited. Minor refinements may be possible, however substantial redraws are not included.

Completed portraits are professionally framed and presented ready to hang.

All artwork remains the copyright of Justine Brentnall. The artist may photograph and display completed work for portfolio or promotional purposes unless otherwise requested.

The artist will always work with care and respect to create a portrait that honours the subject.

Gift vouchers are valid for 3 years from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.

Gift vouchers are redeemabl for the service described on the voucher and cannot be exchanged for cash.

The voucher must be presented or referenced at the time of booking.

If the value of the chosen portrait exceeds the value of the voucher, the difference may be paid at the time of booking..
